Carers NZ and Lumino Dentists are teaming up for the 5th year running to help carers across the country to access free dental treatment on Saturday 5th May. Lat year 417 carers received free dental treatment at 150 Lumino The Dentists nationwide at a value of over $165,000. Oral health is often overlooked by many but vitally important and can impact your overall physical health.

How to apply

Email centre@carers.net.nz if you want to be seen by a dentist on Saturday 5th May 2018.

Provide in the email your: 

• Name
• Address
• Who you care for
• Phone number 

Please note: Submitting your interest does not guarantee you an appointment. The team at Carers NZ will select the required number of patients to match the number of available appointments.

An email will be sent to you to confirm that the practice will be in touch to schedule an appointment or to advise you that you do not have an appointment and will be added to the reserve list. The reserve list may still be contacted, if you are on this list and haven’t heard from anyone in the next few weeks then please be assured that you will be on the priority list for next year.

What to expect

• All appointments will take place on Saturday 5th May so you must be available on this day.
• They will schedule you for either a hygiene appointment or a dental appointment, depending on what’s available.
• The team at Lumino are volunteering their time on Saturday 5th May so expect a lively atmosphere from you walk through the door (and we’re sure they will appreciate a thank you!)
• Appointments will vary depending on the need of the patient however a dental exam and one treatment is typical. The treatment could be a hygiene treatment/clean, a filling or an extraction. If treatment is not required then no treatments will be performed. The team will discuss everything with you so there are no surprises.
• Complex treatments that require more than one visit e.g. Crowns, bridges, dentures, complete root canal therapy etc. and cosmetic treatments e.g. tooth whitening (bleaching,) orthodontics (braces) will not be provided.
