Multiple Sclerosis New Zealand (MSNZ) is the peak body for MS organisations in New Zealand delivering national advocacy, information, education and raising awareness for MS as a condition affecting over 5000 New Zealanders. Our small and committed team needs an admin superstar to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly, enabling the organisation to deliver on its strategic mission.

The Role

This role is critical to ensuring the smooth and adequate flow of information within the organisation to facilitate other business operations. In this varied role, you will connect with all areas of the organisation to keep our administrative systems running efficiently, ensure policies and processes are adhered to, maintain records, coordinate the distribution of resources, and take minutes when needed. Experience with CRMs and project management software is preferred.

You will be the central point for contacts on our information line and email. While training will be provided, you should be a confident communicator who is able to maintain boundaries to ensure information is delivered appropriately.

You will help to organise the logistics for meetings and events throughout the year, booking travel and accommodation.

You will also be responsible for everyday financial processes. Experience with payables and receivables is required, preferably using Xero.

Your administrative skills will be put to good use as you support our busy Communications and Fundraising Leads, delivering both internal and external communications. Experience with e-newsletter, websites, content proofing and social media content is highly desired. You will also be hands-on helping to deliver awareness campaigns and generate funding to enable us to execute our mission and amplify our impact in the communities we serve.

Are You Who We Are Looking For?

We are looking for a team player to join our small but close team who are always willing to help each other out. For this part time role (30hrs/week), someone Christchurch based is preferred. We support hybrid working with all staff working predominantly from home, but connect regularly. You should have proven experience with being able to work efficiently at home, being a self-starter and self-motivator.

  • Outstanding administrative skills and experience
  • A can-do, supportive attitude that appreciates our limitations as a not-for-profit
  • Experience with remote team working
  • Motivated self-starter and team player attributes
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Efficiency and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages (Office 365 and Projects preferred), Xero and CRM systems
  • While experience in the not-for-profit, but for-purpose sector is desired, it is not essential.
