The MS Society Research Scholarship

The MS Society are pleased to announce that they have committed funding to a five year research scholarship coordinated by our medical Director, Dr. Debbie Mason.

It is anticipated that new studies will further delve into the findings of the internationally acclaimed NZ prevalence study enabling a better understanding of MS in New Zealand and providing us with greater lobbying powers. For the past 3 years we have been actively lobbying Pharmac to widen access to the free subsidised MS drugs available in New Zealand. This research scholarship and resulting findings should serve to strengthen our demand that Pharmac increase availability of these medications.
